New running shoes

I got new running shoes on Saturday after my massive 10 mile run. A pair of Brooks Adrenaline GTS. After getting them properly fitted, I was excited to start breaking them in. They have a nice roomy toe box and are designed for support, so the shoe should help compensate for my flat feet.

After trying to run with them today, I learned that is is going to be important for me to do some physical activity every day. I didn’t do a whole lot after my 10 mile run, and that was a big mistake. Today my lower legs were killing me, shins and calves, almost like I hadn’t been running in years.

From now on after major runs, I need to get out and walk, maybe even jog a little, just to keep the juices moving.
