Weekend roundup
This weekend, Esther was meant to be off at a big counseling/psychology conference. She left on Friday morning, leaving me to fend for myself. I actually did really well, managing not to destroy the house, rack up a $1000 in debt, kill the cats, or get fired. But the reality of it was that I really enjoy having Esther around.
I got a call about 3 on Saturday. “Hmmm, who could it be?” says me. It was Esther! She was on her way home already, which was fantastic! The weekend was not lost.
So with the wife home, we decided to go to the movies. “V for Vendetta” was the flavor of the day.
All I can say is WOW. V for Vendetta is one of the best adapted movies I have seen in a long time. The action was intense, the acting was good (although Natalie Portman was mediocre at best). The special effects were awesome, although the center channel in the theatre was buzzing in the lower deeper sounds. That was a minor annoyance. Another thing was the volume was set poorly. Some of the quiet lines of dialogue was too quiet, making V’s lines unintelligable. Outside of the technical annoyances… it was AMAZING!
So other than the movie, I made muffins. Some awesome muffins. Esther snarfed them down quicker than I did. Yay for me!
