The problem with print
There is a problem being a print designer. I never thought I would run into this but here is the crux of the problem.
Everyone who has looked at a magazine, taken a photo, and used Microsoft Word is a better designer than I am.
You see, even though I work very hard to produce quality products for clients, I can only do what clients ask for. I do try to anticpate their needs, but I can only do that to a certain extent. I do have a degree mind you, I can definately get your job printed, but of course I have no idea about what it could look like. I have no idea about how to efficiently layout a brochure, how to draw the reader through the project. How could I with a degree and a … little … work experience.
Ugh.
